You do not need to be fast to run with me but you do need to be commited. Trying anything new takes courage but it is worth it! You will find if you make time for running you will be a happier person.

Courses

These courses will be suitable for complete beginners and experienced runners wanting to improve their speed/distance.

The complete beginners programme is very gentle introduction to running in a supportive group. We do a run/walk programme and the speed is kept at 'chat pace' so you are able to talk and run at the same time. If this is too hard, then we slow down! I offer bespoke one-to-one coaching. This is a great way to motivate you and keep focused. Booking one to one sessions ensures you make time for your running and get the support and encouragement you need.

There are different options for your one to one coaching depending on what will work best for you. I also offer internet coaching if you are not in the Winchester area.

If you are a new runner we do a lot of our running at 'chat pace' where you are able to hold a conversation whilst running. Time goes quickly when you chat whilst running- if it is too hard, we slow down! Building up endurance is key to start with, we are not concerned with speed. This comes later and only if you are keen to improve your times. I want you to look forward to your run with me!

More experienced runners will be introduced to the joys,demands and benefits of speed work and hill work.

When I started running last year I could only run 1 minute and walk for two.   I worked my way up to running for 4 minutes but that took weeks. That was when I discovered Sarah and then with her and a group of ladies I ran a 6 week course.  The ladies came in all shapes and sizes and different levels of fitness and some how Sarah managed to find words of encouragement for all of us.

To give you an idea of what to expect, current clients are following a 7 week programme- 1 planning session to set goals and consider lifestyle, plus 5 accompanied runs and your own training programme that we review each week, followed by a review session over a coffee where we look at your progress and celebrate and consider new goals. As a one to one client your training fits in with your life and can always be adapted.

A 7 week running programme would also make an ideal present for someone who is keen to get fit and have a new goal.
